Newburied

Newburied is an essay series by Tony Ginocchio, in which he reads every single book that has won the 100-year-old Newbery Medal, the American Library Association's highest honor for children's literature. New installments usually come on Tuesday mornings, or barring that, whenever he finishes another book. You can find more information on what he's doing and why it seemed like a good idea in the first essay.

This project is dedicated to Julie.

How to Support

Newburied is free; if you sign up with your email, the essays get sent directly to you, but it doesn't cost anything and you can read any of the old entries on the site at any time, so do what feels right. If you want to support this project, the best thing you can do is share these essays with people you think would enjoy them.

About the Author

Tony Ginocchio grew up in Park Ridge, IIllinois. He is probably best known for Grift of the Holy Spirit, an essay series on the relationship between Catholicism and reactionary politics, which earned him a small cult following among fellow Catholics with mood disorders. He has also written a few works of fiction, including We Have Fun Here and Rosemont. They are self-published and fine. He is a proud member of the Industrial Workers of the World.
